The Montevideo Area Community Foundation (MACF) is organized as a community fund of the Southwest Initiative Foundation, (SWIF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, which allows gifts to the MACF to be tax deductible to the full extent of the law. MACF has a local advisory board responsible for establishing its purpose and priorities, as well as building relationships with donors and grant recipients, while SWIF provides technical assistance to ensure MACF's success, in addition to coordinating compliance with all state and federal charitable giving regulations.
