The purpose of the Montevideo Area Community Foundation is to inspire generosity and to promote philanthropy that benefits the Montevideo area, now and in the future.

History |
Established in 1993 by a group of local citizens, the Montevideo Area Community Foundation was created to be a permanent vehicle to serve the evolving needs of organizations in the Montevideo area. Beginning in 2012, MACF became a community fund under Southwest Initiative Foundation's (SWIF's) guidance. The Foundation is governed by a local Advisory board.

Donations to Montevideo Area Community Foundation are placed in an endowment fund. A portion of the interest earned on the endowment are distributed every year to projects and organizations in the Montevideo area as grants. See the Giving tab for more information.
